A Valley Stream man was arrested for acquiring 13000+ morphine and oxycodone pills using a doctor’s prescription pad over nine months, as DEA Special Agent Ray Donovan mentioned.
James Cosentino, aged 27, was arrested when the medical practitioner alerted the law enforcement agency, as mentioned by DEA Special Agent. The prescription pad was acquired from a former doctor and was used from December 2019 to September 2020. The defendant claimed his drugs numerous times from Nassau County-based pharmacy and once made a call claiming to be his doctor.
During the nine months, the suspect obtained 2,820 morphine pills and 11,580 oxycodone pills.
The suspect may face nine years in prison if charged with a top allegation as he was already presented before with controlled substance third-degree charge and second-degree charge of 10 counts criminal possession.
The case is prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Victoria Mauri of DA Singas’ Special Operations, Narcotics and Gang Bureau.
